In addition to seeing 18th and 19th Century buildings, a few other interesting historic benchmarks to
look for on the tour include:
Court House Documents signed by Thomas Jefferson and other famous Virginia Patriots.
Beautiful wrought iron fences, balconies and gates.
Flagstone walks from early 19th century
Horse-mounting stile in front of Presbyterian Church.
Hand water pumps at old cisterns and wells.
Early gravestones in church cemeteries with oldest dating 1795.
Handsome cupolas on courthouse and churches.
Steeples containing bells which, by tradition, each year ring out the old and ring in the New Year.
